Presenting GoldenEye, a BadCat Summer Project
From Andrea's Blog:
From The Summer Solstice until the Autumnal Equinox, please consider joining me for my third annual Summer event. I was going to call it a project, but that would not be an accurate description. I will be sharing a series of projects, all of which revolve around squares. ******. This first piece is just the tip of the iceberg...
Here is my version of Golden Eye, a lace weight shawl, the first of many squares that are being published by Andrea of BadCat Designs.
Stats:
Yarn : Valley Yarn 2/14 Alpaca Silk handpainted yarn in Tapestry
Needles : KnitPicks Options size 4
Finished Dimensions....uh dunno lost the yard stick somewhere!
Alterations : I knit some extra repeats of the border before moving onto the edging.
Thoughts : This was FABULOUSLY fun!

Simply stunning. I wish I had had the courage and taken the risk to to extra repeats but I probably would have just run short of yarn.
It is Truly Exquisite! Did you like knitting with the alpaca? I don't usually care for it, but your shawl has me tempted.
Thanks for the comment--I still feel a little sick, but as my husband said, I have an overly developed ethical code. Oh well, better honest and poor, I guess :)
Fleegle,
I love the way the alpaca feels now that it is all knit up...and I feel very lucky to have picked one that had some silk content to it...but honestly it was a bit of a challenge to knit with, this was a very loose ply and I kept having to correct only knitting through one ply instead of two!
Thanks for commenting - I love reading your blog, just I am typically a lurker at heart. :)
