One Third

Secret of the Stole 3, or SoTSiii, is a nine part pattern. Here it is through hint 3.

Ain't she purdy ?

I find it funny that the patterning shows up much better in the photo's than with my naked eye.

I finally finished the Red Christmas Sweater, and I am halfway up the back of the Burgundy Christmas Vest !

Yards to go

Summer Sampler has hit the edge ! The instructions, thus far, had me putting the edging just on the top side and then picking up a ton of stitches along one of the long sides and waiting for further instruction. Corners have always been my least favorite areas of edging - do you keep knitting back into the same edge stitch to bring the edge around the corner ? Do you short row the edging and then once you have created a nice arc continue ?.....I will find out how Andrea of Bad Cat Designs does hers next week.

Until then it is back to the Christmas Sweaters for me.

I forgot these...

It is all very well doing the knitting, but none of you can oohhhh and ahhhh over it if I don't take the dratted pictures !

Secret of the Stole 3 will have nine hints, this shows through hint 2.

Oops I found another one. :)

For those of you with needles to spare, Anna of Knit and Knag has set up the group for her Mystic Earth KAL. This is the third shawl in a series of four...Mystic Meadows was just a short story in her quartet of knitting novels. (edit to add her blog address) You can get the details here : http://knitandknag.blogspot.com/

I have knitted Mystic Waters three times, which should give you a clue about how much I like her designs. If I get a chance I will go back and add tags so you can find all three. :)

The Cat Came Back

Andrea, of Bad Cat Designs, is back from Camp and has released the last of the patterns for the Summer Sampler. Next up is the edging and blocking. I love the pattern stitches that she picked for this, many of them she made up, and I can think of tons of things to use them on. Can anyone say spider scarf for the "spider gal" who just got back from Stone Lab ?

Goofy things to do with a strip of lace

Remember that strip of lace ? (Don't remember? click on experiments on the side bar then scroll down.) Well, these are some of the things you can do with it. :)

Saturdays are for Photo's

The Secret of the Stole 3 started yesterday. Sign ups closed on Thursday, but if you didn't get in on this one DK sells her patterns once the knit along is finished, so you are not out of luck, just have to wait a while. :)

Popular vote led to the pearls being chosen for this design...however.....I should have enough of the Colourmart silk/cashmere/linen (and maybe cotton, it is hard to tell from the scribbling on the inside of the cone)blend to make this twice if I REALLY like it and then I can use the smaller sparkly beads.

My Dear Daughter, also known as The Drama Queen requested a purple vest for wearing to school. School starts Tuesday and the vest was finished yesterday! She loves it.

I still haven't found the right hearts to go on Casablanca, I am going to try a couple of other places on Monday.

Just over a week until I go back to working outside the home full time, so we will have to wait and see how much knitting actually gets done. My plan is to limit myself to a 45 hour work week, but I have had that plan before and ended up working 60 - 70 hours a week.

Happy Weekend everyone !

And yes, there is a miscrossed cable, I didn't even notice it until I took the picture :(

(Almost) Finished Object Friday

The "cat" let the secrets out of the bag...The cat being Catlady or Anne Cousins designer of Casablanca. Word on the streets is that I was the test knitter. :) It is not quite finished as there are a few design elements (bling) that are sewn on after the knitting is complete. I have these adorable little hearts, that end up lost. I will need to get something else, or just leave the shawl the way it is.

Anne will be selling the original pattern along with some "extra's", but I don't have a link yet.

As soon as I finish the side ribbing on the Drama Queen's purple vest it will be time to cast on for SOTSiii. Chart was posted earlier today, but I have been very good and not started it. (Only a couple more rows of ribbing to go.)

Dead meat

Which ever cat decided that the blocking Slow Bee looked good enough to take a bite out of is dead meat.

If I can fix it, and that is a big IF, I will get the Drama Queen to model it tomorrow, right now I need to go and have a good cry about it.

Finally it is off the needles

Not much in the way of progress but at least ONE project is finally off the needles. There will be more pictures coming, using our favorite model, The Drama Queen. :)

Stats : Slow Bee 1 by Moni of Wollkabauter Knits.
Yarn : 2/28 silk in lilac from ColourMart
Needles : size US 1 circular needles from Knit Picks
This is design 2 from the knit along, Moni will be selling both this one and the original design on her website which is http://www.pattern.klabauterwolle.de/

Not much to show

There has been knitting, just not too terribly much of it. I should be working on Slow Bee rather than blogging, but I will get to it.

I will say my house is clean(er) than it was and by the end of the week each room will have had everything pulled out of it and only the things we love put back. the "stuff" is making me crazy..crazier ?....and it is time for it to go.

This is Summer Sampler pattern 11 and a pic showing that pattern section in perspective. I cannot wait to be able to wet block this one !

Knitting and Reading

There would be more to show if I hadn't taken nearly a whole day off to clean house and read.

Here we have an experiment in lace, more on that to come later once I have finished figuring out what it will ultimately be.

Casablanca Clue 7

Summer Sampler Pattern 10. I will be able to get Pattern 11 for that done soon as Andrea of Bat Cat Designs uploaded two patterns on Friday instead of one. She is out of computer range for two weeks. One more pattern section, border and edging to go on this. Can't wait to actually wet block it and see what it looks like.
