A Quick. Little, Knit

One of the other things that I got for Christmas was a book.  Angels, A knitter's dozen by Gerdine Strong.  TDQ, who is very good at making knitting plans for me, wants me to knit each of the angels to decorate a tree with.

The knitting went fine, I fell a bit apart on the putting together!  But, here is the first one.  Aptly, the knitting angel.  You can't really tell but she is knitting her own wing, one is already on her back, the second hangs from her "needles" part way through a row.
There she is with flash.

DMC Baroque yarn in white, size 1 needles
And a slightly different angle without flash.

I think my starching and piecing need work!

Double Braided Set

Not a lot to show from this week, was sheer craziness in my life again!  But, I did finish up the double braided mitts to go with the neck scarf.
More of that Berroco Ultra Alpaca and some size 8 needles.  This time I did a better job of matching the ribbing to the ultimate design, so started with Purl 1, Knit 2 ribbing rather than the K1,P1 that I used for the neck scarf.  There is still one more ball and some ends left of this yarn to go, but to be honest I feel like knitting something else for a while.

Here is the set together!
I am still loving those buttons!

I haven't had a chance to really try them out though, we seem to have had an outbreak of spring in the middle of what should be winter, around here.  Has me kind of concerned that we will be watching fireworks in the middle of a blizzard come July, but I will certainly take spring rains over winter snow without complaining about it.

I still haven't finished up Chart 3 of my SPF, Chart 5 is out so I am way behind, but I am determined to finish!  Someday. Maybe while the lighting is good I should run off and knit a row or two.
