Really there has been knitting

I know you can't tell from this picture, baby things are usually "quick knits" but I have been knitting up a storm the past few weeks, I just can't share yet...don't worry mid-June I will post a ton of pics!

I am back to plugging away on VOI as baby blanket. I thought that I had more yarn than I did and ran out half way through the border, luckily not only was I able to get the same yarn but even the same dyelot. I must have been very good and the knitting gods were kind.

Andrea of BadCat Designs has announced this summer's knit along project, or should I say projects! The teaser photo on her blog is the first of MANY things she will be sharing this summer. I love her designs and can't wait to see what Andrea has in store.

Before you ask... the baby sweater is from here, I changed it up a bit as I was using SPA from Caron yarns and got a different gauge and the hat came from my head.
Back to baby things!

Pictureless

I still don't have a camera, but that is ok most of what I have been knitting lately needs to be kept under wraps for a few more weeks. :)

The Drama Queen had a field trip with her choir yesterday - along with a competition they all got to go to Cedar Point. It was a very long day for her, getting to school at 5 am and then not getting home til well gone 11 pm. Today she slept late and got up with a pink nose. Obviously sunscreen doesn't last that many hours.

Only a week more of school and all three of my children will be home all day for summer vacation. Hopefully I can get the biggest of the garden chores done this weekend so that we can do the fun stuff over the summer.

It's not that there is nothing to show...

My sister, the eco-freak, discovered a problem with her camera. She NEEDS a camera for her job so she rushed to the local camera store to be told that in order to fix it they would send it back to the manufacturer it would be x number of weeks, blah blah blah..

Clever sister called the manufacturer and found that Yes they were aware of a problem with that model number and based on her serial number it was one that "got out" before being fixed, SURE we will fix it for free, HERE is a postage paid mailing label.....

She is using my camera while she waits for hers to come back....and discovered MINE has the same problem. :( Oh well, at least I know that I can get it fixed for free!

Socks on Sunday

DS#1 wanted red socks, but not just plain red sock, red socks with lots of color. Looks like he got them! The biggest problem with knitting socks on my lunch break was I didn't really pay attention to the color repeats in the Patons Kroy Stripes and he has fraternal socks. He doesn't mind, luckily.

Happy Mothers Day!

Panopticon

I don't know if you are familiar with Franklin's work....fabulous knitting, a sheep named Delores and a published book to his name...today's attempt at poetry was enough to really brighten my day. Go on, take a look here Then go through his archives and see the wonderful things he makes.

You have to admit, with the final stanza of that poem you have to wonder if he ever met this Mary! :)
