BadCatDesigns Presents....
American Beauty Shawl.
Really she is straighter than she looks, I must stand funny when I am taking blocking pics, they all looked slightly off.
Modeled shots to come tomorrow, with all the details. :)

I call them waterslide
A whole week of spring break and all I have to show you is a pair of socks that I thought were original, until I went to ravelry! Actually I think that both myself and the creator of that pattern used the same stitch dictionary. :)
American Beauty is nearly complete, won't be blocked until late tomorrow so I will see if I can get you pics then.

One caught up
It took over a week, but I finally caught up with Andrea of Bad Cat Designs. There is one more chart to come and this one will be off the needles and ready to block!
Other knitting slowed down a bit while I caught up with this, and had spring break with the kids!
I should have socks to show in the next day or two, then onto a test knit that I (of course) won't be able to share for a while. But, you know the drill on that, I share when I can.

Repeat after me...
I am still knitting, even if there isn't much to show for it!!! The socks I knit during lunch are trucking right along even if many of my lunch breaks have been abbreviated. If I can figure out how to put it together in a comprehensive manner I might even write up the pattern. I think they are turning out rather well for something that I made up off the top of my head!
Veil of Isis as baby blanket is slowly growing. I am at the section where you just keep going the way you began until you think you are nearly done. It is a fairly simple, but very elegant, pattern and makes for good tv watching knitting.
American Beauty has taken over my life. I knew that by using size 00(US) needles I would have a lot of row adding to do - so far I have added 3 repeats of Chart A and when I finish this next one I will stretch her out and try and catch up with Chart C.
Both patterns are from BadCat Designs.
If anyone knows where I can find a tutorial for creating a slick looking knitting pattern and uploading it as a PDF file to blogger let me know!

American Beauty B3
Excuse the bad lighting and photography, the clocks changing here messed up my idea of getting pictures of my American Beauty Shawl using natural light.
At this point in the party decisions have to be made. Will another 30 rows give me a shawl that is anything other than a neck warmer, not using size 00 needles, so as Andrea of BadCatDesigns has given me an option for enlarging the shawl and I still have close to 3000 yards of the silk left it is on to more knitting. The pic above shows where Chart B3 ends, now I am back to Chart A and background design until I think I will have something large enough.
Bearing in mind this will stretch quite a bit more when wet blocked, the question is....How do you know when enough is enough?

I had a plan, and muffed it!
The plan was to knit just far enough that I could spread this out and share the center of Veil of Isis. I knit a little too far for that to work with cable I am using, so you can see half of it instead. :)
Veil of Isis as Baby Blanket. Another design from Andrea of BadCat Designs. This is one of her "knit alongs" from her blog. I have seen versions of this shawl in heavy lace, cobweb, fingering...you name the yarn and it is possible to use this pattern. Ultimately adaptable to fit your needs and right now I need a baby blanket for a pregnant co-worker. You can find the pattern on Ravelry, her blog and in the files section of her yahoo group. I am now at the long keep going in the same manner section so there probably won't be more pics until it is done.
I also in the last couple of days got a Kreativ Blogger award from Amanda at Paradise Found. So now I need to tag some blogs, which is not easy! Several that I watch with interest have already been tagged and there are such great ones to pick from!
The rules are
1. copy the Kreativ Blogger award to your blog
2. put a link to the person from whom you received the award
3. nominate 8 other blogs
4. and link to them
5. then leave a message on the blogs you nominated
So I tag:
Everyone who reads this blog....cheating I know but how could I pick just 8 blogs?
