It's not about Politics

We are all weathering the same storm, in different boats.

My family is luckier than many...we're all essential workers so there has been income (although reduced for some of us) but none of us are "hero's" so no Hero Pay or Thank You Free donuts, coffee, meals, oil changes or special hours to shop...we ran out of TP (thankfully only briefly) and food costs more than it did,,,but to see and hear people saying they won't wear a mask has me questioning why?

When the CDC wasn't suggesting it as a help...I agreed with them, but mostly because the average Joe will wear the mask incorrectly...once they did suggest it...we all donned them!

Maybe, just maybe the push back is because it is protect the people around them and not the individual themselves...but consider...we are all in this together...

I have no idea what the video game this comes from is about...but gosh darn, I really like this song today!

Happy Towel Day!

It all began when two different people asked me “How many stitches should I cast on for a sock?”

“The Ultimate Answer to Life, The Universe and Everything is...42!”
Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

But that really wasn’t what they were asking, you can cast on any number of stitches and knit a sock…what they really wanted to know was “with this yarn, these needles and that stitch pattern, how many stitches should I cast on to get a sock that fits me?” (Even though they didn’t think that information was relevant.)

“Exactly!" said Deep Thought. "So once you do know what the question actually is, you'll know what the answer means.”
Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Being me, I then of course had to backwards engineer a sock pattern that used “The Ultimate Answer” as the cast on! But beware…Gauge really does matter!

OR Any yarn and needle combination to obtain the gauge for your size below.

While I continue sorting and arranging the yarn room, why don't you pop over to either Ravelry or LoveCrafts and find out more?

Almost Quiet

The flooring is done...and the annual "tossing, reorganizing and sorting" of the stash has begun!

It looks even messier than that, right now.  I decided I wanted wheels on the floor standing storage units...which if you notice that even without them one of them barely clears the ceiling means....shuffle things around once more!

The astute among you will notice that the one cabinet is missing a door...I just hadn't put it back on yet.  The prior arrangement of books in that cabinet meant that the doors wouldn't close, putting my ColourMart Stash in there means they will.

If you look carefully you can also see the edges/screen of my home server...Hal...If I was better at programming I would have all of his error messages tell me "I'm sorry, Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that!"

Instead usually I get messages saying I need to be the admin powers to do that..."But, I am the admin!"....

For those in the US...tomorrow is a holiday.  Memorial Day, but for the rest of the world tomorrow has significance as well...Towel Day ......And...The Glorious 25th of May

In honor of such a trifecta of holidays..tune in tomorrow for a special pattern release. I'm going to test some new release pricing, because so many people I know are seriously hurting financially right now... but...because I honestly feel that pattern prices are too low for the work that goes into them already, so it will be a very limited time offer.

As always, for the best deal, sign up for my newsletter over there on the right hand side of this page...

Until tomorrow....

Remind me why I felt that the hottest day we have had so far this year was the perfect time for a full on roast dinner?
